cougarmeat: Men feel the pressures of society just as much as women. Through my internet searches I have come across nothing that encourages body positivity in men. This needs to change. Any attempt to promote healthy attitudes about male body image through comparison of Patriarchy’s effect on women will be unproductive at the end of the day. Rather we should recognize the damage done by Patriarchy to both men and women (and those neither man nor woman) understanding that they are different and in many ways totally outside comparison. Some of the forces acting on Barbie may also act on Ken, but the totality of their experiences can never be “just as hard”.
